JOHN'S COMPUTER HELP

Use a password manager to manage your passwords

This security tip was written on 13 August 2018.

I've written a bit before about having a few memorable passwords for your bank, your social media, your email, and other aspects of your life just to make sure if one is hacked the others aren't compromised too.

But what if you could have a different password for each website? You could generate them randomly and hide them behind a single memorable password. This is how I personally manage all my passwords, so if you haven't tried it before I suggest giving it a go.

If you're interested, try downloading and installing one of the following apps. They're all free, and interoperable using the KeePass format.

For computers try KeePassXC. For Android try Keepass DX. For iOS try MiniKeePass.
